LGBTQ+ Therapy FAQS:
What you Deserve to Know
What does "LGBTQ+ affirming therapy" actually mean?
It means I recognize, celebrate, and respect your identity without judgment. Affirming therapy offers a space where you can be fully yourself. No explaining, educating, or hiding.
Is it okay if I'm still figuring out my identity?
Absolutely. Therapy can be a safe, supportive place to explore your identity at your own pace. You don't need to have it all "figured out" to be valid or to be in therapy.
I've had bad experiences with therapists before. How will this be different?
I honor that harm. As a queer-affirming therapist, I'm committed to creating a space that feels safe, collaborative, and empowering. Your trust is something we build together, on your terms!
What if I just want help with anxiety or work stress?
Totally fine! Therapy isn't just about identity. You're allowed to be LGBTQ+ and seek help for anything. Career, stress, burnout, grief, or life transitions. You don't need a "big reason" to come.
What if I don't want to talk about trauma?
You're in control. You never have to talk about anything before you're ready. We can focus on coping tools, self-esteem, boundaries, or just surviving and thriving in the world as you are.
